The magic and history of Tamworth Castle is to be revealed in flickering candlelight.
People from across the county are invited to the special event, on Saturday, November 12.
Guided tours through the castle will be running every 15 minutes from 5.30pm until 8pm.
More than 300 candles will be lit along the way to show visitors the building in an old light.
History brought to light
Event organisers aim to show people how the castle’s occupants illuminated the rooms before the electric light bulb.
Each tour will end in the Great Hall with a candlelit display of Tudor music and dance.
Guests can even join in the revelry and trip a measure or two themselves.
Or they can just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
Hundreds of people are expected to be attracted to the event so the organisers are asking folk to book as soon as possible.
There are only places for 25 people on each tour. Pre-booking is essential.
Adult (including OAP) tickets cost £7.50. For children aged five years and over they are £5.
Tickets for children aged 2 to 5 years cost £3. Entry for under-twos is free.
Tickets are available from Tamworth Information Centre, Marmion House, Lichfield Street.
People can also book by ringing 01827 709618, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
