Police appeal following fatal collision on A518

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal two-car collision this morning (October 20), on the A518.


Staffordshire Police appeal.

The incident occurred between 6.30am and 6.45am, at the main road’s junction with Walkley Bank, next to the Aqualate Golf Club.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa and blue Peugeot were involved.


The male driver of the Corsa was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has not yet been formally identified. But his family members have been informed and are receiving specialist support.

The male driver of the Peugeot was taken to hospital in Shrewsbury for treatment to minor injuries.


 The road was closed for around six hours while an examination of the scene took place.  An investigation into what caused the collision has now begun.

People with information are asked to ring Staffordshire Police, on 101, quoting incident 90 of October 20.
